Pattaya, Thailand: The Indian dressage team showcased a stellar performance at the 2025 Asian Equestrian Championships in Pattaya, securing the silver medal in the team finals. While hosts Thailand captured the gold, Hong Kong finished with bronze.
The Indian line-up featured Gaurav Pundeer from Uttar Pradesh, Divyakriti Singh from Rajasthan, and Shruti Vora from Maharashtra. Their technically precise and composed routines kept India in contention from the start, challenging some of Asia’s strongest teams. India led for a significant portion of the competition but narrowly missed out on gold by just 0.2 percentage points, underlining the intense competitiveness of the event.
Divyakriti Singh stood out as a key contributor, helping India clinch the podium finish. With this achievement, she becomes the only Indian equestrian to medal at both the Asian Games and Asian Championships. An Arjuna Awardee and Asian Games gold medallist, Divyakriti’s European training under elite coaches has greatly enhanced her performance and readiness.
Speaking about the achievement, Divyakriti said, “I am very happy with my horse Improvers’ performance. He gave his best, and together we delivered our career-best score for India to bag the silver medal. It’s a pity we missed the gold by such a slender margin.”
India’s riders will now focus on their next major targets: the 20th Asian Games in Japan next year and the 2028 Olympic Games in the United States, aiming to build on this momentum and achieve further breakthroughs.
