Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) has announced that its ongoing relay OP boycott will continue, with the protest now entering its fifth week. As part of the agitation, the association will boycott outpatient (OP) duties and theory classes on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 29, while also continuing its Work-to-Rule strike. During this period, doctors will refrain from responding to official communications and will not submit data or statistics.

Protest meetings will be held at 10:30 a.m. in all medical colleges across the state.
The association clarified that inpatient care will continue as usual, and essential services—including emergency treatment, casualty, labour room, ICU care, and emergency surgeries—will not be affected.
Doctors have appealed to the public to avoid visiting hospitals for non-emergency needs during the protest days, in order to prevent overcrowding and ensure smooth functioning of critical services.
Office bearers warned that if their long-pending demands are not addressed immediately, the association will be compelled to intensify the protest after the local body elections.
