Quetta: Security forces successfully thwarted armed attacks on the Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan’s Nokundi and Panjgur districts late Sunday night, neutralising multiple attackers and maintaining control of the affected areas.
In Nokundi, a group of terrorists targeted the FC headquarters. A suicide bomber detonated at the main gate, while at least six armed assailants tried to storm the camp. The FC Quick Response Force swiftly retaliated, killing three terrorists who had breached the fort. Heavy gunfire and multiple explosions were reported during the exchange, but security forces regained full control, and a clearance operation is ongoing inside the headquarters. Some sources claimed up to six attackers were neutralised in total.
Meanwhile, in Panjgur, armed terrorists attacked an FC checkpost in the Gurmakan area. A fierce exchange of gunfire continued late into the night, with several attackers reportedly killed.
The banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for both assaults. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent further incidents and ensure local security.
