Thiruvananthapuram: The investigation into the Sabarimala gold theft case is gaining momentum, with former minister Kadakampally Surendran likely to be questioned soon. The possibility arises following statements made by former Devaswom Board president A. Padmakumar, who was recently arrested in connection with the case.

Responding to the developments, Kadakampally Surendran stated that he has no involvement in the gold theft. He added that the Devaswom Board functions independently and that no related files had ever come before him during his tenure.

SIT to Take A. Padmakumar Into Custody

A. Padmakumar, who is currently in remand, will be taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for further interrogation. The team is expected to file a detailed report on Monday.

Padmakumar’s arrest followed the recovery of crucial documents from the Devaswom Board headquarters and information obtained during questioning. The SIT has outlined his alleged involvement in the remand report.

His arrest, officially recorded around 3:30 PM yesterday, was carried out with caution due to its potential political impact. The investigation continues to intensify as more details emerge in the high-profile case.
