Ops Sindoor and Mahadev Sent Clear Message to Terror Planners: Amit Shah

Operation Mahadev

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said that Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev have delivered a strong warning to terror masterminds, proving that attempts to harm Indian citizens will not go unanswered.

Launched in May, Operation Sindoor targeted terror hideouts and military facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Shah said the operation brought “satisfaction” to the people, while Operation Mahadev, launched in July, “turned that satisfaction into confidence” by eliminating those directly responsible for the massacre.

Honouring the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF personnel involved in Operation Mahadev, Shah said the successful strikes have shown the world that terrorism cannot derail India’s progress. “The security forces have shown that no matter what strategies terrorists adopt, they cannot hurt India and escape. The Pahalgam attack, carried out at a time when tourism was thriving in Kashmir, failed to derail the Kashmir Mission,” he said.

Shah also noted that forensic tests conducted by the NIA confirmed that the terrorists neutralized in Operation Mahadev were the same individuals behind the Pahalgam killings. “On behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the entire nation, I congratulate our security forces for strengthening the sense of safety in the hearts of citizens,” he added.

The Home Minister emphasized that along with the Army and paramilitary forces, the Jammu and Kashmir Police now play a leading role in counterterrorism operations. He further said that the success of these missions has won appreciation across the political spectrum, building trust in India’s national security framework. “This trust is the foundation of India’s aspiration to rise to the top in every field,” Shah concluded.
