In response, a public announcement was made at a local Gurdwara Sahib advising residents to stay indoors for safety.
The most recent discovery follows a similar incident in Amritsar, where missile debris caused alarm among locals. As part of its defense, India’s air defense systems had shot down missiles and drones launched by Pakistan, with explosions heard throughout the area. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems had successfully neutralized these attacks. “The debris recovered from several locations serves as evidence of Pakistan’s failed attempts,” the Ministry stated in an official release.
This string of incidents follows Pakistan’s continued threats of retaliation after India carried out strikes on terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) under Operation Sindoor. The Pakistani military launched drones and missiles in an apparent response, targeting cities in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab.
