Kamala Harris’ Husband Reveals He’s Never Won a Debate

As the highly anticipated first presidential debate approaches, Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, has shared intriguing insights about their debate experiences. Emhoff, who spoke to ‘Pod Save America,’ revealed that despite his legal expertise, he has never won a debate against his wife, the US Vice President.

Before their political careers, both Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff were distinguished lawyers. Emhoff, in a recent interview, was asked about the upcoming debate between Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump. He candidly admitted his lack of success in debates with his wife, praising her skills as a “great debater” and a “first-class trial lawyer.”

The interview highlighted how even in casual discussions, Harris employs strategic debating techniques, setting “little traps” for her opponent. Emhoff noted that these debates are not formal, but he acknowledged Harris’ impressive debating prowess.

Kamala Harris previously served as the district attorney of San Francisco and the attorney general of California. Doug Emhoff, a partner at DLA Piper, specialized in intellectual property and entertainment law before entering politics. The couple celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in August.

At the Democratic National Convention last month, Emhoff expressed his admiration for Harris, stating she is “exactly the right person” for the current moment in history. As the debate on September 10 draws near, Emhoff is optimistic about Harris’ performance against Trump.

The debate, hosted by ABC News, will be the first face-off between Harris and Trump. The campaigns have been negotiating the rules and format, including microphone control. Emhoff acknowledged the unpredictability of Trump but expressed confidence in Harris’ ability to address the issues affecting Americans.

The second presidential debate, scheduled for 9 pm ET at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, will be a pivotal moment in the 2024 election campaign. Emhoff’s comments underscore the high stakes and intense preparation involved in this critical political event.
