Irani chaired a meeting of officials to review the implementation of various welfare schemes of the Central government at the district collectorate in the morning.

The visit of Irani, who had trounced Rahul Gandhi in the once Gandhi family stronghold of Amethi in the 2019 general elections, has assumed much political significance and also sparked off speculations about the future game plans of the BJP in the constituency.

She is also likely to put the spotlight on the developmental challenges faced by the district, which has the largest tribal population in the state, when she addresses a press conference later in the day.
