Imphal: Manipur’s Bishnupur district was hit by a fresh bomb attack on Friday morning, causing damage to at least two structures, according to police reports. The attack involved rockets fired from elevated positions in the hill areas of Churachandpur district.

The rockets were launched toward the residential locality of Tronglaobi, situated approximately 45 kilometers from Imphal, the state capital. The estimated range of these rockets was over 3 kilometers.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident. However, the attack resulted in damage to a local community hall and an empty room, police said.

The suspected militants did not stop at just one attack. They also fired several rounds towards Bishnupur district, prompting a retaliatory response from security forces stationed in the area.

The previous night, heightened tension was reported in Kumbi village, located a few kilometers from Tronglaobi. Eyewitnesses reported that multiple drones were spotted hovering less than 100 meters above the ground, adding to the sense of insecurity in the region.

This recent escalation in violence follows a pattern of ongoing unrest and conflict in the region, raising concerns about the safety and stability of the affected areas.

Authorities are currently investigating the attacks and have ramped up security measures to prevent further incidents. The situation remains fluid, and local residents are advised to stay alert and follow updates from security forces.
