The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for his first official visit to India. His visit marks a significant moment in the strengthening relationship between India and the UAE.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal welcomed the Crown Prince at the airport with a ceremonial reception. Sheikh Khaled is accompanied by several UAE government ministers and a business delegation, underscoring the importance of this visit.

On September 9, the Crown Prince is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Additionally, Sheikh Khaled will meet President Droupadi Murmu and visit Rajghat to pay respects to Mahatma Gandhi.

The following day, September 10, Sheikh Khaled will travel to Mumbai to participate in a business forum. This event will feature leaders from both nations, aiming to explore new opportunities for collaboration.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) noted that the visit aligns with the deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE. This partnership spans political, trade, investment, energy, technology, education, and cultural exchanges.

In January, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India, focusing on expanding the strategic partnership. His visit included discussions with PM Modi and participation in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

Prime Minister Modi also visited the UAE in July 2023, continuing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties. His visit was notable as the fifth visit to the UAE since he became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country in 34 years.

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE was formally established in 2017 during Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to India. This partnership has significantly enhanced trade and investment between the two nations.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), India-UAE trade reached USD 85 billion in 2022. The UAE is India’s third-largest trading partner and second-largest export destination, reflecting the robust economic ties between the two countries.

This visit by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is expected to further strengthen India-UAE relations and explore new areas of cooperation, building on the momentum of past high-level exchanges.
