PM Modi and Nitish Kumar share a celebratory moment on stage as the NDA forms the new Bihar government, with Modi bowing to the people in gratitude.

My heartiest congratulations to all colleagues who took oath as ministers in the Bihar government. This outstanding team of committed leaders will guide Bihar toward new heights. My best wishes to all of them!” PM Modi said after the swearing-in ceremony.

The NDA scripted a landslide victory in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, securing 202 out of 243 seats and delivering a major blow to the Mahagathbandhan alliance.

Following the decisive win, the NDA formally formed the government on Thursday, with Nitish Kumar taking oath as Chief Minister for a record 10th term. The historic event was held at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan in the presence of top BJP and JD(U) leaders, including PM Modi.

A 26-member cabinet was inducted alongside Nitish Kumar, featuring two deputy chief ministers and prominent leaders such as Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Dilip Jaiswal, and Mangal Pandey.

The tenure of the current Bihar Assembly ends on November 22. A three-day session of the newly constituted House will begin on November 26, during which the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected and the newly chosen MLAs will take oath.

Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in came just a day after he submitted his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, paving the way for the NDA’s return to governance.
