A newly compiled catalogue of Martian clouds has unveiled a fascinating array of atmospheric phenomena on Mars, highlighting its diverse weather patterns.

1. Despite its thin, carbon dioxide-rich atmosphere, Mars produces impressive cloud formations under certain conditions, as revealed in the new cloud atlas.

2. Daniela Tirsch and her team at the German Aerospace Center have developed this comprehensive atlas using images from the European Space Agency’s Mars Express probe over 20 years.
